Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Nelson Hospital. The role is a 6-month fixed term, 0.8FTE, with Sunday to Monday rostered shifts in a supportive, balanced workload environment.

The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team providing inpatient care from acute to rehabilitation and will contribute to high standards of patient care while embracing te ao Māori and te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse with the ability to work autonomously.
• Experience in mental health inpatient care is preferred.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient mental health care from acute through rehabilitation.
• Perform mental status examinations and risk assessments as part of patient care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery.
