Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay, Napier Health Centre, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician (nurse, social worker or occupational therapist) to join our Napier Community Mental Health & Addiction Service. You will deliver comprehensive mental health and addiction assessments, develop care plans, manage a caseload in a community setting.

  • Mental Health Clinician (nurse, social worker or occupational therapist) Napier Health Centre
  • Permanent, Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight (1 FTE)

About the Role

You will work in partnership with tangata whaiora and whānau to:

  • Deliver comprehensive mental health & addiction assessments and interventions
  • Develop and implement individualised care and recovery plans
  • Manage a caseload within a community - based setting
  • Collaborate across a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to achieve best outcomes
  • Support service improvement, quality care, and equitable health outcomes
About the Team/Service/ Location

Based at Napier Health Centre, our team provides specialist mental health and addiction services Monday to Friday, 8am5pm.

We are a well-established MDT including:

  • Psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work, occupational therapy
  • Alcohol & drug clinicians and support workers
  • Cultural support through Kaitakawaenga and Pōwhirinaki Māori

Together we deliver holistic, whānau-centred care, supporting recovery and wellness in the community.

About you

We welcome applications from:

You will bring:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health & Addictions (or working towards)
  • Recent community mental health / addiction experience
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable outcomes

Ideally you will also:

  • Be a Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) or willing to train
  • Have experience working in complex, multidisciplinary environments
