About the Role

We are seeking a Medical Registrar (non‑training, Basic and Advanced Training level) to join our Department of Medicine. The role is based in Gisborne, New Zealand and starts as soon as possible. Registrars will work with a team of ten physicians in general medicine, an outpatient cardiology team, specialist nurses and visiting subspecialists. The department is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians for Basic and Advanced Trainees.

About the Team / Service / Location

Gisborne Hospital is a 110‑bed acute care hospital serving a population of 54,000 across the East Cape region. The facility includes comprehensive surgical services, full diagnostic capabilities, including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner, and strong ties with our tertiary referral centre in Waikato. Gisborne lies on the eastern coast of New Zealand’s North Island and offers a relaxed lifestyle with short commutes.

About You

Suitable for Resident Medical Officers PGY3 and above. Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You will need to be a NewZealand or Australian citizen or resident, or have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in NZ.
