Media Technology Specialist

Responsibilities

Purpose of this role: Strategically identify, evaluate and adopt emerging industry trends, tools, technologies, equipment and systems to enhance production quality.

Ensure a seamless, efficient and reliable production pipeline by maintaining equipment and gear readiness as well as optimising post-production systems for supporting both video and audio workflows.

Scope:

  • Bridge the gap between on-set production and post-production, ensuring that all technical resources are in place, functioning efficiently and aligned with the creative and operational needs for productions
  • Work with Broadcast Engineering Department on equipment and systems to support camera and postproduction units
  • Handle camera and recording equipment management, post-production system setup and maintenance for video and audio

Production equipment management

  • Maintain and manage inventory of camera, lighting equipment, grip and audio recording equipment
  • Oversee scheduling, preparation and return of gear for shoots
  • Coordinate with Broadcast Engineering Department and vendors for servicing and rentals when required

Post-production systems

  • Work closely with Broadcast Engineering Department to set up and maintain editing systems (hardware and software), shared storage and backup solutions
  • Manage data transfer between production, video editors and audio team
  • Ensure systems and equipment can support remote post-production workflows if applicable

Audio post-production support

  • Maintain and troubleshoot audio suites, interfaces, microphones and plugins
  • Ensure systems can be seamlessly sync and integrated between audio and video post-production

Technical troubleshooting and support

  • Act as first point of contact for production/post technical issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software (Adobe Premier, DaVinci, Pro Tools, etc) and hardware (storage, peripherals, servers)
  • Provide technical onboarding and user support for new editors, producers and freelancers

Cross‑department collaboration

  • Work with IT and Broadcast Engineering Department on systems and network-related matters and integrations
  • Ensure compliance with technical specs for broadcast, productions and platforms
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in relevant discipline with minimum 8 to 10 years of related work experience in media production, broadcast or film industry
  • Experience in overseeing end‑to‑end technical equipment and systems for both production and post‑production

Functional & Technical Competencies:

  • Understanding of camera systems, lenses, lighting and audio equipment
  • Proficiency with post‑production workflows (editing, colour grading, VFX)
  • Familiarity with audio post tools
  • Understanding of storage systems, file formats, encoding and transcoding
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across the production pipeline
  • Budgeting for technical equipment and post‑production requirements
  • Asset tracking and inventory control
  • Ability to manage vendors
