Job summary

Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking an experienced leader to head Governance & Strategy within the Organisational Performance & Innovation Group. You will provide leadership across governance, democracy, strategy, and corporate planning, aligning Council objectives and delivering on long-term strategies.

You will work closely with elected members, executive leaders, mana whenua, and key stakeholders to build strong governance practices and drive continuous improvement, ensuring accountability,

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in local government or public sector.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks and statutory requirements (LGA, LEA, LGOIMA, Standing Orders).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage relationships with elected members and mana whenua.

Lead governance excellence and help shape the future of Rotorua.Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Organisational Performance & Innovation Group as Manager - Governance & Strategy.Reporting to the Group Manager Organisational Performance & Innovation, you will provide leadership across governance, democracy, strategy, and corporate planning functions.
