Job summary

Momentum Consulting is seeking an experienced Management Accountant (intermediate to senior) for a six-month fixed-term role in our public sector finance team in Wellington. You will partner with Finance Business Partners to deliver insightful monthly reporting, budget support and forecasting, and clear financial commentary to guide decisions.

Management Accountant - Intermediate to Senior

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant or Senior Management Accountant to join the finance team of a public sector organisation on a six-month fixed-term appointment.

Working as part of a skilled and collaborative finance business partnering team, you’ll provide trusted financial advice, analysis and insight to support several Finance Business Partners across management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

About the role

You’ll support the Finance Business Partners with strong technical capability and analytical insight,contributing to a deeper understanding of financial performance, risks and opportunities.

In this role, you will:

• Prepare accurate and insightful monthly management reports, including variance analysis and commentary.

About you

You will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or business.
• CA, CPA, CIMA or similar qualification.
• Proven experience in management accounting in a medium to large organisation.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
• High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive, collaborative approach.
