Archway Recruitment is seeking an aspiring Management Accountant based in Newtown, Aotearoa New Zealand. This role offers a solid foundation in commercial thinking, stakeholder management and financial advisory capability as you move into management accounting.

You will support monthly financial and performance reporting, prepare commentary and variance analysis, assist budgeting and forecasting, and help stakeholders understand results to inform decisions and business cases.

Competenze

• Experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting, BAS or a related finance position.
• Progress towards CA qualification or equivalent.
• Interest in budgeting, forecasting and business partnering.

The Role

Based in Newtown, this is an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to move into their first Management Accountant position.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting monthly financial and performance reporting
• Preparing commentary and variance analysis
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Identifying emerging financial risks and opportunities
• Providing analysis to support operational decision-making
• Contributing financial information to business cases and service initiatives
• Helping stakeholders understand financial results and performance
• Supporting improvements to financial reporting, tools and processes

This position provides a strong foundation for someone who wants to develop their commercial thinking, stakeholder management and financial advisory capability.

Role Requirements

Applications are welcomed from auditors, financial accountants, BAS accountants and assistant accountants who are ready to step into management accounting.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting, BAS or a related finance position
• A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline
• Progress towards a CA qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification
• An interest in developing budgeting, forecasting and business partnering skills

Previous management accounting experience would be beneficial but is not essential. More important is your accounting foundation, communication ability and motivation to develop into a capable Management Accountant.
