Transdev is seeking trainee rail drivers to complete an industry-leading training program, including classroom learning, simulator sessions, and hands-on driving in the Wellington area.

You will drive modern trains on scenic Wellington routes, work forward-rotating shifts (including mornings, nights, and weekends), and join a crew that values calm under pressure, safety, and people-first teamwork.

Qualifications

• Safety-focused, responsible and reliable.
• Calm under pressure and able to work independently.
• Able to remain situationally aware on familiar routes.

Responsibilities

• Complete ~10 months of industry training, including classroom learning, simulator sessions, and hands-on driving.
• Drive modern trains through Wellington routes.
• Work rotating shifts including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
• Be part of a crew where teamwork and safety mindset make a difference.
