Bathurst Resources is New Zealand’s largest coal-specialist mining company. We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 550 people. The Stockton Opencast Mine is located close to the coast on a plateau in the Buller coalfield, 35 km north of Westport. This is one of New Zealand’s largest mines with a long history of coal production and produces high value coal for export to the world’s leading steel makers.

The Role:

We are looking for a Trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic with a proactive approach, who will be an important member of our team responsible for the light vehicles repair and maintenance. Your focus will be on maximizing vehicle availability and reliability, preventing breakdowns.

Current roster pattern is a 9 day fortnight working Monday to Thursday/Friday, from 6:30am to 16:30 pm. Ideally you will need to have extensive knowledge and understanding of the repair and maintenance regime of light commercial vehicles, with previous work on modern Toyota 4-Wheel Drive vehicles an advantage.

To be successful in the role you must have:

• Proven experience in light vehicle installation and fault-finding.
