Job summary

CoLegal Limited is seeking a Legal Executive with 3+ years' residential conveyancing experience to work autonomously on a sophisticated portfolio. You will manage property purchases, sales, transfers and refinancings, including KiwiSaver matters, while collaborating with specialist lawyers across private client, commercial and corporate practice.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a qualified and registered Legal Executive.
• Strong residential conveyancing experience with end-to-end matter management.
• Confidence working autonomously with access to senior lawyers when needed.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of residential conveyancing matters from start to finish.
• Handle residential property purchases, sales and transfers.
• Manage refinancing, mortgage transactions and KiwiSaver matters.
• Provide general documentation and client advice for residential matters.
• Contribute to conveyancing for clients across corporate, commercial and private client teams.

This is not simply another residential conveyancing role. We are looking for a 3+ year Legal Executive who can operate autonomously across residential conveyancing matters and is looking for the opportunity to work alongside highly experienced lawyers and specialists across a broader private client, commercial and corporate practice.

About the Role:

You’ll have the opportunity to work with sophisticated clients and matters that sit across the firm’s wider practice areas. This is an opportunity to step into a more sophisticated practice where expertise, autonomy and quality of work are valued. You will take ownership of a portfolio of residential conveyancing matters, supporting the firm’s clients across:

• Residential property purchases, sales and transfers
• Refinancing, mortgage transactions and KiwiSaver matters
• General residential property documentation and client advice
• Conveyancing matters for clients of the firm’s corporate, commercial and private client teams

You will be trusted to run your matters with a high degree of autonomy, while having access to experienced lawyers and specialist teams when matters require a broader level of expertise.

About You:

You will ideally have 3+ years' experience as a qualified and registered Legal Executive, with strong residential conveyancing experience and the confidence to manage matters from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who:

• Loves residential property and takes pride in delivering a high quality client experience
• Is confident managing residential conveyancing files autonomously, with strong knowledge of refinancing and KiwiSaver
• Is organised, detail focused and communicates confidently with clients and stakeholders
• Wants to develop their career within a sophisticated, specialist and high performing legal environment
