Job summary

Russell McVeagh is seeking a Legal AI Engineer in Auckland to transform how legal services are delivered. You will combine legal expertise with technology to identify opportunities, design solutions and support adoption of AI across the firm.

Working with lawyers, business services and technology providers, you will develop AI-enabled workflows, document automation and knowledge tools, deliver training, and help lead responsible AI initiatives in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Experienced lawyer with 3–5 years' PQE and interest in AI and legal tech.
• Strong understanding of legal practice and workflows.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Passion for AI, legal technology and process improvement.
• Understanding of confidentiality and professional obligations.

This newly created role sits within our AI Transformation team and combines legal expertise, technology and innovation. Working closely with lawyers, business services teams and technology providers, you'll identify opportunities, design solutions and support the adoption of AI and legal technology across the firm.
