EIT is seeking a passionate and experienced permanent, full-time Lecturer - Bachelor of Social Work to join our School of Education, Social Sciences and Veterinary Nursing in Hawke's Bay. In this role, you will contribute to high-quality teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and research, supporting student success and professional standards. Working alongside colleagues and students, you will deliver contemporary, culturally responsive social work education that reflects EIT's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and values Mātauranga Māori, whanaungatanga, and strengths-based practice. We are looking for someone with recent social work practice experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to culturally responsive practice.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $84,793 and $89,639 dependent on skills and experience.

The Lecturer - Bachelor of Social Work is based in our School of Social Sciences and Veterinary Nursing in Hawke's Bay reporting to the Head of School Education, Social Sciences and Veterinary Nursing and will be responsible for:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Master's level qualification is highly desirable.

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of contemporary social work approaches.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to coordinate academic activities.
  • Experience supporting diverse learners to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and effective teaching practices.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the integration of te reo, tikanga and Māori values within teaching and learning.
  • Tertiary teaching experience and a teaching qualification would be advantageous.
