Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Lead, Operations Software to anchor the architecture, development, and support of software that configures, commands, and monitors launch vehicles, spacecraft, and ground systems. You will lead a team of engineers onsite in Auckland, NZ, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a degree in a relevant field.
• Proficiency with Git and Jira for project tracking.
• Strong skills in Go, C#, or C++ and UI development.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, implementation, and maintenance of software for testing and mission ops.
• Provide vision and technical direction to a high-performing team.
• Own team contributions, align with business priorities, manage risks.
• Engage stakeholders to define requirements and manage deliverables.
• Develop software architecture designs and backlog items.
• Foster agile practices, code reviews, and documentation.
