New Zealand Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi) is seeking a Principal Procurement Specialist to enable successful infrastructure delivery across major capital projects.

You will lead procurement strategy development, market engagement and complex negotiations, partnering with project teams and sponsors to ensure value for money and delivery confidence across NZTA's transport programme. This is a permanent role based in Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch.

Formación

• Significant experience leading infrastructure procurement and sourcing.
• Knowledge of market engagement, alliances, and direct negotiations.
• Experience developing sourcing strategies balancing risk and value.
• Proven ability in complex commercial negotiations.
• Strong contract management, governance and probity understanding.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with senior leaders.
• Strong commercial acumen and sound judgement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary or professional qualification; membership desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Lead procurement activity across planning and sourcing phases of the lifecycle.
• Develop fit-for-purpose sourcing strategies with project teams.
• Engage with suppliers, manage market intelligence and risk.
• Support contract award and negotiation processes.
