Elmwood Village in Manurewa is seeking a fixed-term Diversional Therapist to join their dedicated team and support residents with engaging activities.

This role involves leading the activities team, collaborating with care staff and families to create varied programmes, and ensuring safety while encouraging participation.

Applicants should have relevant qualifications, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to manage multiple tasks with good computer and system skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar position.
• National Certificate in Diversional Therapy or equivalent health of elders qualification.
• Excellent people skills with an ability to motivate others to participate in activities.
• Good computer and system management skills.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures to meet audit requirements.
• Full NZ Driver’s licence.
• Flexible multitasking and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the activities team.
• Work closely with the care team, residents and their families to create fun and varied activities programmes.
• Motivate residents to take part in activities while maintaining a safe environment.
• Build rapport with residents, staff and visitors.
