About the role | Mō te tūranga:

Our Auckland laboratory has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Laboratory Technician to become a key member of our Specimen Reception team. This is a fixed-term, full-time role (80 hours per fortnight) where you’ll play a vital part in the smooth running of our lab operations.

In this role, you’ll ensure that every specimen arriving at the lab is received, sorted, and registered accurately, while providing an exceptional experience for our clients. You’ll work collaboratively with a supportive and skilled team, embracing a solutions-focused mindset and a culture of continuous improvement.

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, approachable, and customer-service oriented, ready to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and make a real impact on laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, sort, and register incoming specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service, assisting clients and internal teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Specimen Reception team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Follow laboratory protocols and quality standards to maintain sample integrity.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and suggesting process enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients regarding sample queries or issues.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks related to specimen handling and documentation.
