• Fast-paced, teamwork, laboratory-based roles at AsureQuality in Lower Hutt, Wellington
• 2 Roster options: Monday to Friday / Tuesday to Saturday
• Fixed-term positions (seasonal work, with potential for extension)

The Opportunity

AsureQuality are looking for laboratory technicians across several teams to help with our annual increase in testing volumes for pesticide and veterinary medicine residue testing.

This is a fabulous opportunity for people to start and deepen their career in chemistry through receipt and handling of samples and performing a range of extraction techniques. Full training is provided on the job, including quality compliance with ISO 17025 and safety measures to ensure the job is done reliably and safely according to the WorkSafe Act 2015.

The Wellington AsureQuality laboratory is a fast-paced work environment requiring collaboration and teamwork. Our ideal candidates will have great attention to detail, communication skills, with previous experience in a similar quality controlled working environment being a plus.

Our opportunities are fixed-term contracts (typically 6 months) to support seasonal testing volumes, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. To be successful in the role you will require:

• A passion for science and environmental issues
• Knowledge of chemistry principles and laboratory techniques

• Exemplary attention to detail and both written and verbal communication skills
• Pride in what you do, the quality of your work and a true team ethos
• A tertiary education in Chemistry or similar area is well regarded in this role
