Fulton Hogan Ltd. is hiring a Laboratory Technician for our brand-new Petone laboratory. You will collect samples, perform standardized testing on aggregates, soil and asphalt, and report results to support the wider business.

Night shift and weekend work may be required as activities vary. You should have laboratory experience, a science or civil engineering qualification, and a practical, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a laboratory environment is required.
• Understanding of quality assurance and material properties is desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is expected.
• Strong focus on safety and wellbeing in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect aggregate, soil and asphalt samples and complete testing to required specifications.
• Carry out laboratory testing and reporting in line with IANZ requirements.
• Support field testing and other physical works as required.
• Complete equipment checks before use and maintain calibration across laboratory equipment.
• Apply appropriate local and international test methods.
• Provide analysis and clear reporting of results for relevant focus areas.

In this role, you’ll help deliver Good Work by collecting samples, carrying out standardised laboratory testing, and supporting the wider business with accurate, timely results. **Mō te tūranga | About the role**This is a hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be involved in aggregate, soil and asphalt testing, field testing, equipment checks, and reporting.
