Job summary

Radius Baycare, at Haruru Falls, Paihia, invites applications for a part-time Kitchen Assistant. You’ll work with our kitchen team to provide nutritious, well-presented meals to residents and maintain a hygienic workspace, including cleaning equipment and adhering to infection control principles.

Qualifications

• Relevant hospitality/kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and reliable worker with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure utensils and equipment are clean and stored safely.
• Perform general kitchen duties including dishwashing.
• Maintain infection control principles at all times.
• Handle, label and store chemicals correctly.
• Meet timetables and coordinate with the kitchen team.

Location:

Radius Baycare, 361 Puketona Rd, Haruru Falls, Paihia

Hours of work:

6.5 hours per week, over a rotating roster

Note: Radius Care cannot support work visas/visa changes for this role. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights and preferably at least 6 months left until expiry.

About the role:

Gain valuable experience working closely with our kitchen team. Assist with the meal service and providing nutritious, well-presented meals to our residents. Aid the kitchen team to provide a hygienic work environment. Assume responsibility for cleaning food prep equipment and utensils. Report any faulty equipment to the Cook.

Duties include:

• Ensuring utensils and equipment are clean, and stored safely and correctly
• General kitchen duties, including dishwashing
• Maintaining infection control principles
• Handling, labelling, and storing chemicals correctly
• Meeting timetables
