We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Kristin School in Albany.
This is a permanent role working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00 to 14:00 (6.5 hours including 30 mins break). You will help us deliver a quality catering experience by supporting food preparation, washing dishes, maintaining clean kitchen and dining areas, and providing friendly service to our customers.
You will play an important part in the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen while following our food safety, hygiene, health and safety procedures.
- Provide warm, friendly and professional service to customers.
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, plating, and vegetable and salad preparation.
- Wash and safely store pots, pans, crockery, utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Clean and maintain kitchen, dining and public areas to a high standard.
- Receive, replenish and rotate stock while following food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Previous experience in a similar role or kitchen environment.
- A reliable, hardworking and flexible approach to your work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow routine instructions.
- The ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required.
- A good level of physical fitness to safely complete the duties of the role.
- Previous experience using standard kitchen cleaning equipment or anNZQA Food Handling Certificate would be advantageous.
