Job summary

Te Wānanga o Aotearoa in Tauranga seeks a dedicated Kaiako support role to assist with planning and delivery of high-quality learning experiences for tauira.

You will assist with tauira recruitment, enrolment processes and maintaining accurate learner records, and prepare learning resources and classroom environments.

The role supports programme administration, academic quality processes, and pastoral guidance to promote engagement, retention and successful completion.

Qualifications

• Level 4+ Te Reo Māori qualification.
• Fluency in Te Reo Māori is highly desirable and useful for workplace Te Reo programmes.
• Experience in a support, education, administration or customer-focused role, ideally within a learning environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with tauira and colleagues.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to team success.
• Ability to motivate, encourage and empower others to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

• Support Kaiako with the planning, preparation and delivery of high-quality learning experiences for tauira.

• Prepare learning resources, teaching materials and classroom environments to support effective programme delivery.
• Support programme administration and academic quality processes to ensure compliance and successful delivery
• Provide pastoral and academic support to tauira, helping to promote engagement, retention and progression.
• Monitor attendance, following up learner absences and assisting with initiatives to improve tauira success.
• Support programme activities, including noho marae, wānanga and administrative processes that contribute to quality educational outcomes.

Salary Range: $47,347 - $60,901

We are looking for someone who has the following:

• Level 4 or higher qualification in Te Reo Māori or similar subject
• Fluency in Te Reo Māori is highly desirable for roles supporting Te Reo Māori programmes, as well as an ability and willingness to use and develop TeReo Māori in the workplace
• Experience in a support, education,administration or customer-focused role, ideally within a learning environment
• Strong communication and relationship-buildingskills, with the ability to connect positively with tauira and colleagues
• A proactive mindset with the ability to identifyopportunities for continuous improvement and contribute positively to teamsuccess
• The ability to motivate, encourage and empowerothers to achieve their goals
