Job summary

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school, delivering personalised learning from early childhood to NCEA Level 3. We are seeking a creative, innovative secondary kaiako who is a mathematics and statistics expert to join our Northern team.

As a kaiako, you will engage with ākonga online and face-to-face, work onsite with regional colleagues, and may request to work from home up to 2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Willing to learn, innovate, collaborate and build effective relationships.
• Experience delivering engaging learning online and face-to-face.

Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics and Statistics across secondary year levels (7–15).
• Engage with ākonga online and in-person during huinga ako and events.
• Collaborate with regional offices and colleagues; contribute to flexible learning arrangements.

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3.

We are looking for a creative, innovative secondary kaiako (teacher) who’s a subject expert in mathematics and statistics to join our Northern team.

Kaiako at Te Kura engage with our ākonga online and face-to-face at huinga ako (advisories) and events and also work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices. Te Kura aims to provide flexible working arrangements, so kaiako are able to request to work from home for up to 2 days per week.

It is essential that you have a sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment requirements and are willing to learn, innovate, work collaboratively and build effective relationships.

Working across all secondary year levels, you will inspire and support ākonga through engaging learning programmes tailored to their individual strengths, interests, and aspirations.

You’ll be future orientated and understand how the use of technology, together with your enthusiasm, vision and commitment improves education outcomes for all our students, Māori and Pasifika learners in particular.
