Placements24 is seeking a Junior Chemical Process Engineer to join our growing team in Queenstown. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote data analysis and report writing, providing hands-on experience under senior engineers.

You’ll contribute to design, development, operation, and optimization of chemical processes, while learning to improve safety, efficiency, and environmental performance in a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass).

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in design and development of chemical processes.
• Monitor process performance and collect data for analysis.
• Support troubleshooting efforts for operational issues.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and pilot studies as directed.
• Prepare process documentation, including P&IDs and operating procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
• Assist in implementation of process improvement initiatives.
• Learn and apply chemical engineering principles to practical industrial applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.
