Job summary

Civix in Auckland is seeking an Intermediate Surveyor to join our central Auckland team. You'll work across land development and infrastructure projects, gaining exposure to field and office work while growing your technical capability.

You’ll deliver surveying tasks, support project delivery, and collaborate with planners, engineers and other consultants. A Bachelor or Diploma in Surveying and 2–5+ years’ experience are preferred, with knowledge of NZ LINZ requirements and common survey

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Diploma in Surveying (or equivalent) preferred.
  • 2–5+ years’ experience in civil construction and/or land development surveying.
  • Good working knowledge of NZ surveying principles and LINZ requirements.
  • Experience with survey software (e.g. AutoCAD, 12d, Leica Infinity).
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys being part of a team.
  • Cadastral experience is a bonus but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering end-to-end surveying tasks across a range of land development and civil projects.
  • Carrying out fieldwork, data processing and plan preparation.
  • Supporting project delivery by coordinating tasks, tracking progress and meeting milestones.
  • Completing topographic and construction surveys to a high professional standard.
  • Working closely with planners, engineers and other consultants on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Communicating with clients and stakeholders on project progress and technical matters.
  • Supporting and guiding junior surveyors where appropriate.
  • Identifying risks and contributing to solutions to keep projects on track.
