Qualifications

• Ability to operate at Intermediate level in planning.
• Experience applying statutory planning frameworks including the RMA.
• Experience with complex land-use assessments and third party responses.
• Navigation of district and regional plans; contribute to policy and plan changes.
• Clear, well-reasoned written advice with professional judgement.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders and internal teams.
• Identify and escalate risk balancing delivery with transport network efficiency.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for more complex third party responses, including plan changes, land use and subdivision proposals.
• Support project teams with planning advice across the transport project lifecycle.
• Apply national consistency while responding to regional and local planning contexts.
• Work closely with senior and principal planners and project managers to manage risk and support sound decision making.
