Job summary

Kelston Boys’ High School in Auckland seeks a passionate teacher of food technology and hospitality to join our school from Term 1, 2027. This is a full-time, fixed-term role to cover a temporary roll increase, with an start date of 25 January 2027 and end date 27 January 2028.

You will deliver engaging programmes, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to the school’s co-curriculum while building strong relationships with students and staff. Salary and conditions align with SCTA guidance.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant teaching qualification and current Teaching Council practising certificate.
• Strong understanding of the technology curriculum and ability to plan engaging programmes.
• Maintains high standards of food safety and safe equipment use.

Responsibilities

• Teach food technology and hospitality to secondary students (Years 7–15).
• Contribute to the schoolwide co-curriculum and strategic direction.
• Plan and deliver engaging and practical programmes.
• Build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
• Support development of school programmes and the wider school culture.
