Job summary

Dunedin Genius Early Years In Home Childcare is seeking a qualified Visiting Teacher to join our Home-Based Early Learning Service Team in the Dunedin/Otago region. The role starts at 10 hours per week with potential to grow as the network expands.

You will lead and mentor Educators, travel to support the team, and contribute to learning stories and programme planning while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Qualifications

• Qualified, fully registered Early Childhood Education Teacher.
• Diploma of Teaching or equivalent.
• Current NZ Education Council practising certificate.
• Experience leading adults with mentoring and coaching.
• Clean NZ driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of professional practice in early childhood education and MoE legislation.
• Ability to juggle varied workload and strong time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
• Experience with learning stories, programme planning and some administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and support to in-home Educators/Nannies/Au Pairs.
• Travel around the Dunedin/Otago region to support Educators and the team.
• Lead and mentor adults in home-based childcare settings.
• Develop learning stories and plan learning experiences for Tamariki (children).
• Contribute to administration and programme planning as required.

This role is part time starting on 10 hours per week with the opportunity to increase as the network grows.

Genius Early Years is looking for someone who has:

• an early childhood teaching qualification (minimum Diploma of Teaching)
• current full NZ Education Council practising certificate
• experience in leading adults, including mentoring and coaching
• a full clean NZ driver's licence.
• knowledge of professional practice in early childhood education
• understanding of Ministry of Education legislation.
• ability to juggle a varied workload

The main purpose of Genius Early Years is to provide high quality early childhood education and care that delivers high quality learning experiences for our children.

This permanent part time position would be based in the Dunedin/Otago region. The successful applicant would need to be prepared to travel around the region to support our Educators and team.

Our Visiting Teachers provide support and guidance to our wonderful group of home-based Educators/Nannies and Au Pairs, providing excellent early learning outcomes for our Tamariki and whanau. Experience in leading adults and Home-based childcare an advantage.
