Job summary

MBIE invites applications for two permanent Immigration Compliance and Investigations Investigator positions in Manukau. You will lead complex investigations into Immigration Act offending, support regulatory outcomes, and contribute to intelligence-led enforcement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven criminal investigation experience with complex cases.
• Experience preparing and managing prosecution files to a high evidential standard.
• Strong court presentation skills and ability to give evidence.
• Experience managing witnesses and preparing exhibits for court.
• Knowledge of contemporary investigative techniques, including digital methods.
• Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to apply NZ Immigration Act and other key statutes to investigations.

Responsibilities

• Investigate serious Immigration Act offending and non-compliance.
• Conduct intelligence-led investigations and contribute to enforcement outcomes.
• Prepare evidence and manage investigations through to prosecution where appropriate.
• Collaborate with regulatory teams and stakeholders across MBIE.
