Job summary

The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation is seeking a passionate Sustainable Investment professional to integrate sustainability across investment activities and asset classes. You will collaborate with the wider investment function, translating strategic priorities into practical actions and supporting key initiatives with data-driven insights.

You will engage in research, due diligence, data analysis and stewardship activities while learning from a high-calibre team.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in sustainable investment and its impact on long-term outcomes.
• Experience or expertise in a relevant environmental, social, investment, finance, economics, data or sustainability discipline.
• Strong research and analytical capability with curiosity to tackle complex topics.
• Strong data skills to analyse information and extract insights.
• Sound commercial judgement and understanding of institutional investment.
• Strong written and verbal communication to translate analysis into insights.
• Collaborative, able to build relationships across teams and manage priorities.
• Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Undertake sustainable investment research and analysis across environmental, social and governance themes.
• Support due diligence and analysis of investment opportunities across asset classes.
• Analyse portfolio and sustainability data to inform decision-making and monitoring.
• Contribute to stewardship activities including company monitoring, engagement, voting and exclusions.
• Support delivery of Sustainable Investment initiatives across research, data and implementation.
• Develop and apply Sustainable Investment frameworks and tools across the Fund.
• Support climate, reporting, portfolio monitoring and BAU activities within the team.
• Collaborate with investment colleagues and communicate findings clearly to various audiences.
