Job summary

LeaderBrand Produce in Gisborne, NZ, is seeking an adaptable HR Generalist to partner with frontline leaders across farming and operations, helping lift capability and shape how HR shows up day to day. You’ll join a nimble, hands-on HR team in a true generalist role reporting to the General Manager – HR.

• Partner with leaders across farming, operations and shared services on performance and day-to-day people matters.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and talent development initiatives.
• Contribute to engagement, wellbeing, leadership and digital improvement programs.
• Improve HR systems, processes, policies and employment documentation.
• Support projects that enhance employee experience and business effectiveness.
• Explore how technology and AI can support better ways of working.

You won’t be sitting on the sidelines — you’ll be working alongside frontline leaders across farming and factory operations, helping lift capability and shape how HR shows up day to day. You'll join a nimble, hands-on HR team in a true generalist role reporting to the General Manager – HR. This is a role with variety, practical responsibility and the chance to make a visible contribution.

What you’ll be doing

Partnering with leaders across farming, operations and shared services on performance, employment relations and day-to-day people matters

Supporting recruitment, onboarding and talent development

Contributing to engagement, wellbeing, leadership and digital improvement initiatives

Improving HR systems, processes, policies and employment documentation

Supporting projects that improve the employee experience and business effectiveness

Exploring how technology and AI can support better ways of working

What you’ll bring

HR experience in a practical, fast-paced environment

Tertiary education but equally interested in experience

A sound understanding of New Zealand employment relations

Strong relationship-building and communication skills

A practical, solutions-focused approach

Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to get stuck in

An interest in improving systems, processes and ways of working

Bonus Points If You Have Experience In:

HRIS platforms, workflow improvement, onboarding or induction design, workshop facilitation, assessment tools, design of apprenticeships or internship programs
