Avani Queenstown Shores Resort, part of Minor Hotels, is expanding its housekeeping team with multiple full-time opportunities. We’re seeking dedicated, detail-oriented individuals who take pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences and thrive in a team environment.

Responsibilities include thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, making beds, vacuuming, bathrooms, completing tasks within allocated hours, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Good physical fitness for repetitive tasks and prolonged standing.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
• Clear communication with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean guest rooms including beds, vacuuming, and bathrooms to high standards.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within allocated hours.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily cleaning targets and goals.
• Adhere to safety protocols and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Build professional relationships with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Work minimum 30 hours per week; shifts start at 9:00 am; rotating roster Sunday to Saturday.
• Earn NZD 27 per hour.

About the job:

• Maintain high standards by thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, including making beds with precision, vacuuming floors, andcleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within the hours allocated by the company.
• Collaborating with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Adhering to safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Using specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively - with all training and tools provided.
• Building strong, professional relationships with team members, guests, and contractors to help foster a positive, respectful work environment.
• Minimum of 30 hours per week
• $27 NZD per hour
• Shifts commencing at 9.00am
• Rotating roster across Monday through to Sunday

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles will be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training will be provided).
• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Professional and clear communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• A positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
