Job summary

Dunedin Hospital under Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Service. This role blends traditional hospital pharmacy with automated medicines management, including Omnicell Superuser duties to support digital workflows.

You will assist with dispensing and medicines management across inpatient and outpatient services, manage inventory, and participate in evolving technician-led activities.

Qualifications

• This role requires NZ Certificate in Pharmacy (Technician) Level 4 or 5.
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience and strong organisational skills are essential.
• Experience with automated dispensing cabinets like Omnicell or Pyxis is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support dispensary operations by preparing, dispensing, distributing and supplying medicines across inpatient and outpatient services.
• Assist with medicines management including inventory and supply processes.
• Participate in technician-led and extended scope activities as services evolve.
• Act as Omnicell Superuser/administrator supporting automated dispensing systems.
