Nelson Marlborough Health in Blenheim is seeking Hospital Cleaners to support the Household Services at Wairau Hospital. You will help provide a safe, hygienic environment for patients and staff; no prior experience is required as full training is provided, and you’ll join a supportive, collegial team.

Casual positions offer flexibility with shifts covering mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends. Penal rates apply for evenings, weekends and public holidays, making this a practical entry into

About the Role

As a Household Staff member, you play a vital role in theday‑to‑day running of the hospital. Your presence will contribute to theeffective day-to-day operations within its department.

As a Hospital Cleaner, you will help the hospital runsmoothly by providing an efficient cleaning service for the patients and staff.

Types of duties are - but not limited to:

• Offering morning and afternoon tea (drinks andsnacks);
• Collecting meal trays from patients after eachmeal;
• Mopping the floors using specific equipment whichtraining is provided to use;
• Cleaning offices, bathrooms and ward rooms;

We have casual positions available working a range of shifts and hoursincluding nights and weekends. The working hours will be on an as required basis assisting with peak capacity and covering staff leave. There are no fixed days

In addition to hourly rates, we pay penal rates forevening (after 8.00PM) and weekend work, and public holidays worked.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Household team of nearly 88 value teamwork and arecommitted to supporting the best possible health outcomes for our patients.

Our main location is Nelson, but we are spread across theregion and service all parts of the community.We have Household servicesbased at Wairau Hospital and Alexandra Hospital also.

About you

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work;someone who can create a positive impression on patients, families and staffwithin the hospitals.

You will be suited to a Household role if you have greatcustomer service skills and a passion for seeing how the hospital ticks. Noexperience is required.
