Job summary

Access Community Health in New Zealand is looking for a compassionate support worker to assist tāngata with daily living in their own homes. No prior qualifications or experience are required, as comprehensive training is provided during onboarding.

You will offer safe, respectful, person-centred care, honouring individual culture, routines and boundaries, with flexible hours and weekend shifts available. Travel time and mileage are paid as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Full or restricted driver’s licence.
• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health & Wellbeing qualification or equivalent.
• Spinal injury experience.
• Stoma Management experience.
• Experience with hoists (standing and two-person).
• Experience administering prescribed medication.
• Love working with people and helping them thrive.
• Willing to learn and adapt to each person’s needs.
• Experience in caregiving, disability support, aged care or related roles.
• Commitment to culturally safe, respectful support for diverse backgrounds.
• Own a smartphone and have right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Support tāngata with individual care needs and daily living activities at home.
• Provide safe, respectful, person-centred support while honoring culture, routines and boundaries.
• Utilise training to deliver high-quality care and respond to changing needs.
