Job summary

Clutha NZ is looking for a Herd Test Technician in Balclutha to deliver and install Herd Testing equipment across the region. This is a physically demanding, seasonal role requiring excellent time management and communication skills.

The successful candidate will be part of a small team and should be flexible with working hours, as well as possess a solid understanding of dairy operations. You will be trained for dual tasks, ensuring a dynamic work environment each season.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our Herd Test Technicians use LIC vehicles to deliver and install Herd Testing equipment in dairy sheds throughout the region. They then return the following day to collect the completed samples and equipment. This is a fast-paced role which requires excellent time management skills and physical strength as handling heavy equipment is a must.

Working in Balclutha and Central Otago region, this is a short-term role to cover the seasonal peak for around 9 months. The role will suit individuals who love being outdoors and have flexibility with their working hours. This is a dual trained role so not only will you be a Herd Test Field Technician but you will also be trained as a Herd Test Assist and will be required to do both tasks when time allows. This job does require out of town travel so you must be flexible. You will be part of a small team so it is paramount your a team player and willing to help your peers out when possible.

About You

To hit the ground running in this role, you will ideally know your way around a milking shed and have a reasonable level of fitness and physical strength. Other key attributes are:
