Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Taranaki is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join Ward 4A/4B General Medical at Taranaki Base Hospital in New Plymouth on a 0.9 FTE fixed term basis.

The ideal candidate will hold a Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker qualification, be ready to complete Merit levels, and bring recent hospital experience. You will work rotating rosters as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centred care 24/7.

About the Team/Service/ Location

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team. Ideal candidates must be comfortable with working on a rostered and rotating basis. Furthermore, will have:

• A Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker qualification
• A desire to complete Healthcare Assistant Merit levels
• Recent experience (preferably in a hospital setting)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within the multidisciplinary team
• Excellent time management skills

About you

Wards 4A and 4B provide acute inpatient medical care for adults with a diverse range of complex and often rapidly changing health needs. Our multidisciplinary team delivers compassionate, patient-centred care 24 hours a day, supporting patients and their whānau from admission through to discharge. Our nurses provide care across a broad range of medical specialties, including:

• General Medicine
• Cardiology
• Respiratory Medicine
• Renal Medicine
• Neurology and Neurosurgery
• Haematology and Oncology
