About the Role

This is an exciting position here at Wairarapa Hospital for a Health Care Assistant Outpatients Registered.

The primary purpose of the role is to: support and work alongside staff. You will assist with delegated patient care, cleaning and undertake housekeeping and clerical functions. The Health Care Assistant may also be required to undertake a specific area of responsibility, as assigned by their manager.

This is a permanent Full-time position working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE) Monday to Friday, actual hours of work to be discussed.

About you

• Entry Qualification - secondary school qualification or equivalent in job/life experience.
• Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
• Minimum English speaking, writing and comprehension skills.
• Basic computer skills and/or ability to learn.
• Ability to build and developing therapeutic relationships with patients all ages and cultures.
• Good oral and written English.
• Ability to work under direction but also carry out tasks independently.
• NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance (or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience working in a health-related field or customer service industry is desirable.
• Demonstrate skills and caring attitude towards people
• Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other members of the health team.
• Promote health and wellbeing and attention to detail.
• Effectively cope with change
