Job summary

Ministry of Health – Wellington invites applications for a Senior Health Programme Advisor to lead and influence the Polynesian Health Corridors programme, strengthening immunisation and vaccine-preventable disease preparedness across New Zealand and the Pacific.

You will work with governments, health agencies, and communities to deliver initiatives, provide expert advice, and manage programme activities from design through to delivery, contributing to improved regional health security outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong nursing, immunisation, or public health experience.
• Experience leading public health programmes from design to delivery.
• Knowledge of Polynesian health priorities and Pasifika communities in New Zealand.
• Experience providing high-quality advice to diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Nurse Vaccinator Pathway rollout and support partner countries to strengthen immunisation capability and workforce development.
• Provide expert health security advice and lead design/delivery of vaccine-preventable disease initiatives across Polynesian countries.
• Manage and oversee programme activities including stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract management, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
• Build strong relationships with country partners and government agencies to support programme delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement by contributing to planning, processes, tools, and frameworks for Health Security work.
