Job summary

Goodman Fielder is seeking a Packaging Technologist in Auckland to develop and trial packaging for iconic NZ brands. You will work hands-on with flexible and rigid plastics, paper and other formats, leading factory trials and collaborating with R&D, Marketing and Operations to deliver smarter packaging solutions.

The role requires 2–5 years in packaging technology, a related degree, and an engineering mindset.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years' experience in packaging technology.
• Experience with flexible and rigid plastics preferred.
• Degree in Packaging Technology, Food Technology, Materials Science or Engineering.
• Engineering mindset and curiosity for machinery and processes.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Plan and run factory and transport trials; analyse results for improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Procurement, Operations and suppliers to implement projects.
• Explore new packaging technologies and sustainable packaging solutions.
• Ensure packaging meets food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
