Job summary

GCH Aviation Ltd – Christchurch invites applications for a Helicopter (Rotary Wing) Pilot with IFR desirable. The role requires extensive rotorcraft experience, CPL and medical, with NVG and H145 rating highly preferred.

Expect travel between Greymouth, Christchurch and Nelson bases and a tight-knit West Coast team. We value safety, teamwork and initiative, offering a competitive package and fully funded Southern Cross Health Insurance.

Qualifications

• Hold a Helicopter CPL and Class 1 medical.
• Have at least 2000hrs rotary wing time as PIC.
• Unrestricted Night rating with 50hrs night.
• H145 type rating or equivalent twin-engine rating.

Responsibilities

• Travel to cover operations at other bases as required.
• Roster follows Kelly Shift pattern; reside on the West Coast.
• Join a close-knit team on Greymouth Base and participate in social events.
• Support safety and quality culture; operate under IFR when applicable.

• Highly Desirable – have an IFR Rating (RW) with at least 100 hrs IFR time

Desirable but not essential are:

• Helicopter ATPL
• Previous HEMS experience
• Previous New Zealand South Island flying experience
• 20hrs rotary PIC IMC
• Winch endorsement
• Instructor endorsement with ME
• Flight examiner endorsement with ME

With bases in Christchurch, Greymouth and Nelson, the successful applicant will be required to travel from time to time to cover operations in other Bases. Our current roster is based on the Kelly Shift roster pattern and when on duty you are required to stay on the Base in Greymouth. Because the Greymouth Base is a small tight-knit team, it is essential that our successful applicant reside on the West Coast.
