Job summary

Green by Nature in Hastings is seeking an apprentice Groundsperson to help maintain high-quality sports grounds. The role includes mowing, rolling, fertilising, irrigation setup, weed control, line marking, spraying, and assisting with covers.

You will need a strong passion for sports turf, self-motivation, and ideally Level 3 or 4 Sports Turf qualifications; a full NZ driver’s licence with manual is essential. Hours are Monday to Friday 7am–3:30pm, with January cricket camp split shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to complete Level 3/4 Sports Turf qualifications.
• Full NZ driver’s licence with manual preferred.
• Interest in maintenance of sports turf grounds.

Responsibilities

• Mow, roll, fertilise, irrigation setup and weed control as part of daily duties.
• Line marking, spraying, and assisting with covers as needed.
• Support cricket pitch maintenance and other grounds tasks as required.
