Job summary

NDY, a Tetra Tech company, offers a two-year graduate program in hydraulic services design. You will work on live projects across health, education, commercial and mixed-use sectors, gaining early ownership with mentoring and practical site exposure.

You’ll develop consulting and technical skills, rotating across disciplines, joining client meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions to grow confidence as a trusted adviser. Start in 2027 with NZ working rights.

Qualifications

  • Near completion of, or recently completed, a mechanical, civil or building services engineering degree.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Curious mindset with problem solving skills.
  • Available to start in 2027.
  • Full New Zealand working rights for the duration of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Design of potable and non potable water supply, sanitary and trade waste drainage
  • Design of stormwater, roof drainage and recycled water systems
  • Coordinate with the other building disciplines including architecture, structural and building services
  • Prepare drawings, schematics, schedules and calculations
  • Visit sites to observe installation and work with contractors
  • Support client meetings and present clear options

What are hydraulic services?

Hydraulic services manage water, storm water, waste and gas in buildings. They include potable water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, roof drainage, trade waste, rainwater reuse and natural gas.

What the hydraulics team does

We design safe, efficient water and waste systems. We plan supply, drainage and reuse, coordinate with structure and services, and document designs contractors can build and maintain.
