Job summary

Transpower invites engineering graduates to join its graduate programme based in Wellington. Over two years, you’ll rotate across multiple teams, applying theory and first principles to real-world transmission engineering challenges.

You will receive training and mentoring from technical specialists and career professionals, gaining exposure to diverse career options within Transpower and contributing to meaningful projects from day one.

Our Graduate Programme, commencing February 2028

Based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington, you’ll join a cohort of around 20 engineering graduates. Over the course of the two-year rotational programme, you’ll build your skills and apply theory and first principles to real-world challenges while working across different teams.

Graduate roles are permanent positions

where you’ll engage with internal and external teams, customers, and the wider Transpower business. Rotations may require time in different Transpower offices in addition to Wellington, which may include Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, and Christchurch.

You’ll gain a broad understanding of the expertise required to specialise in Transmission Lines Project Engineering.
