Job summary

ZURU Baby seeks a Global Project & Compliance Manager to lead regulatory compliance across core markets and drive end-to-end projects from planning to launch. You will liaise with our China Regulatory Affairs team and global stakeholders to ensure products stay compliant while delivering complex cross-functional initiatives across NZ, US, EU and beyond.

The role requires strong project leadership, organisation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across markets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' regulatory/compliance experience in FMCG or consumer goods.
• Hands-on ownership of product registration, material/formulation compliance assessment, and label sign-off across multiple international markets.
• Ability to translate regulatory text into practical compliance decisions.

Position Overview

The Global Project & Compliance Manager is responsible for two critical areas across ZURU Baby: leading regulatory compliance across our core global markets and driving end-to-end project delivery across our growth and expansion markets. Acting as the key link between our China Regulatory Affairs team and the wider global business, you'll ensure products remain compliant while also owning complex cross-functional projects from planning through to execution. This is a fast-paced global role requiring strong project leadership, organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities across markets and functions.

Position Impact

You'll play a key role in strengthening the connection between our China Regulatory Affairs team and our global teams, ensuring regulatory requirements, changes and risks are clearly understood and effectively managed across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK and EU. With a strong regulatory and compliance background, you'll help translate requirements into clear business actions, coordinate stakeholders and ensure the right teams are aligned as products are developed, launched and maintained in market.

Alongside this, you'll take ownership of project management across our growth and expansion markets, driving timelines, actions and cross-functional coordination across multiple projects at once. Working closely with Product Managers in New Zealand and China, Regulatory Affairs, QA, Legal and other global teams, you'll bring structure, visibility and accountability to projects and help ensure they are delivered on time and in full.

Over time, the role has the opportunity to take on a broader project management remit as ZURU Baby continues to scale globally.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance Ownership - Between yourself and the China Regulatory Affairs team, you will own all product registration, product compliance assessments, product testing, packaging artwork sign-offs & labelling guidance - ensuring products meet consumer product safety and labelling standards for both new launches and existing SKUs. You will also collaborate with wider Product & Legal teams on marketing claims analysis.

• Cross-Functional Coordination - Act as the key link between ZURU's China regulatory affairs team and global stakeholders - closing the current communication gap, resolving non-compliant product or labelling issues, and translating China-side testing and qualification outcomes into market-ready compliance decisions. Build a seamless regulatory process spanning China R&D and QA, legal, external counsel, and product management.

• Regulatory Monitoring & Risk Scenario Planning - Track current and upcoming regulatory change across our core markets, assess the impact on formulation, labelling and claims, and present compliant options with associated risk, cost, and consequences for leadership decisions.

• Project & Timeline Management - Own end-to-end project management across our growth and expansion markets, driving projects from initial planning through to launch. Build and manage project plans, timelines, dependencies and critical paths, ensuring projects are delivered on time and in full.

• Cross-Functional Project Delivery - Coordinate Product, R&D, QA, Regulatory, Legal, Commercial and other stakeholders across New Zealand, China and global markets. Proactively identify roadblocks, drive actions and decisions, and maintain clear visibility across multiple concurrent projects.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years' regulatory/compliance experience in FMCG or consumer goods, with hands-on ownership of product registration, material/formulation compliance assessment, and label sign-off across multiple international markets.

• Working knowledge of consumer product safety and labelling requirements across our core markets, and the ability to translate regulatory text into practical compliance decisions.

• Experience managing cross-border regulatory relationships.

• Project management experience, or a demonstrated track record running multiple concurrent market timelines to on-time delivery.

• Comfortable operating at pace under pressure - able to pull together data and input from multiple sources quickly and land a clear go‑to‑market recommendation without losing accuracy.

• Incredibly high attention to detail, thrives off information accuracy.

• Must be able to work out white space from regulations and understand where flexing is possible and where it’s not.

• Nice-to-have: Mandarin Chinese proficiency - not required, but a genuine advantage given the close day‑to‑day work with our China regulatory and QA teams.
