Job summary

GHD in Hamilton is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join the Graduate cohort starting February 2027. You will support investigations, inspections and design tasks across bridges, culverts and other civil structures, while building technical judgement and consulting skills.

This two-year program offers mentoring, cross-disciplinary collaboration and exposure to asset management. You should have a Civil Engineering degree or be completing studies by end of 2026, and be prepared to relocate to

Responsibilities

• Support investigations, inspections and condition assessments for bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other civil structures.
• Assist with maintenance scoping, remedial design, structural assessments and the development of practical solutions for existing infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates and other project documentation.
• Contribute to asset management planning by reviewing inspection information, assessing risk and helping prioritise maintenance and renewal activities.
• Work with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams while developing your technical judgement, project management and consulting skills.

Our Civil Infrastructure team is looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join GHD’s Graduate cohort in Hamilton, commencing in February 2027.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will:

• Support investigations, inspections and condition assessments for bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other civil structures
