Job summary

The University of Canterbury invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term Lecturer position in Geology within the School of Earth and Environment (SEE). You will teach undergraduate and postgraduate Geology courses, supervise Masters and PhD students, and cultivate collaboration with national and international partners while building a strong externally funded research program.

• PhD in Geology or closely related discipline; postdoctoral or equivalent experience preferred.
• Expertise leading undergraduate field and classroom geologic education within NZ geology context.
• Ability to supervise undergraduate research and collaborate across SEE and the wider university.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver classroom and field teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Geology.
• Supervise Masters and PhD research students.
• Foster collaboration within SEE and with national/international partners.
• Develop a strong externally funded research programme.
