Arvida is seeking a versatile gardener to nurture and maintain the beautiful gardens at our community in New Zealand. The role focuses on high-quality customer service for residents, maintaining plant health with natural techniques, and a passion for gardening.

We offer market-rate pay, a uniform with PPE, training and opportunities for apprenticeships with Primary ITO. The position is physically demanding with a requirement for good fitness and reliability.

Qualificações

• Demonstrated competence in a similar role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of plants, growth patterns.
• Highly motivated, flexible, and able to take initiative.
• NZ Driver's Licence and the ability to drive a small manual truck.
• NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least three years' working experience.

Responsabilidades

• Preparing and maintaining seedbeds and growing sites.
• Propagating and planting trees, bushes, hedges, flowers, and bulbs.
• Maintaining lawn areas by topsoil, grass, and turf.
• Weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering, and mowing planted/grassed areas.
• Pruning trees and hedges, installing plant supports and protection devices.
• Examining trees to assess condition and determine treatment.

Job Description

We are looking for a versatile and motivated gardener with a desire to create and maintain the stunning gardens at our community. Your dedication to great customer service will shine through for our residents, who are at the heart of all we do. We garden using natural techniques and are looking for somebody with a true passion for gardening.

We pay market rates and provide a uniform, including quality wet weather gear, tools, and PPE. We provide training and we promote an educational path for our gardeners’ encouraging apprenticeships with Primary ITO.

This is a physically demanding job, and a high level of fitness is required.

• $25.75 to $29.66 - depending on qualifications and experience

• A strong work ethic, reliable, time and safety conscious
• A high level of fitness, as this job is very physical

Tasks include:

• preparing and maintaining seedbeds and growing sites
• propagating and planting trees, bushes, hedges, flowers, and bulbs
• preparing lawn areas by spreading top soil and planting grass, and by laying instant turf
• maintaining planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering, and mowing
• pruning trees and hedges, and installing plant support and protection devices
• examining trees to assess their condition and determine treatment
