Job summary

Promisia Healthcare Limited is seeking a motivated Gardener for our Cromwell facilities on a fixed-term summer contract through May 2027. You will maintain lawns and outdoor areas, operate gardening machinery safely, and support landscaping projects in a welcoming caregiving environment.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, able to work outdoors in all weather, and possess a NZ driver’s licence with rights to work in NZ. Interviews will be conducted as applications are received.

Qualifications

• Experience in lawn care or gardening preferred but not essential.
• Ability to operate lawn care machinery and tools safely.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work unsupervised.
• Respectful and empathetic towards older people.
• Valid rights to work in New Zealand.
• Current New Zealand driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens, lawns, courtyards, and outdoor areas to a high standard
• Operate and maintain gardening machinery and tools safely
• Manage watering systems and spraying programmes in a safe and controlled manner
• Keep driveways, entrances, and pathways clear and tidy

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Gardener to join our team at our Cromwell facilities. Being a fixed term contract over the summer until May 2027, this might suit someone on a working holiday, or someone looking for reduced hours per week.

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining our lawns and outdoor areas to a high standard, ensuring they remain attractive, safe, and inviting all year round.

Key responsibilities
