Job summary

A global leader in recycling is seeking candidates in Invercargill City to operate machinery for sorting and grading metals. Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will safely operate machinery in order to sort, grade and purchase metals. Full training will be provided for the successful applicants!

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Load & unload trucks, skip bins, and trailers.
  • Operator equipment, including forklift and/or excavator (where licenced).
  • Ensure customers receive a high level of service.
  • Grading and sorting metals.
  • Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
  • Attention to detail – This role involves working with metal and requires the ability to identify and separate different materials.
  • A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training to diversify your skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, numeracy skills, and basic computer literacy.
  • Previous experience in customer service and/or similar roles.
Desirable criteria:
  • Forklift ticket is highly regarded
  • WTR licence
