Job summary

Access Community Health in Katikati, Bay of Plenty, is seeking Kaiāwhina/Support Workers to provide person-centered home support. No qualifications or prior experience required, with comprehensive paid training and flexible hours to fit learners’ schedules.

Weekend shifts are available with extra pay, and travel time plus mileage is compensated. This role offers valuable health sector exposure while supporting clients in their own homes.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience.
• Willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person.
• Experience in caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people-facing roles.
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, person-centered support in people’s homes.
• Support individuals with their daily living activities and routines.
• Be mindful of what matters to them, their culture, values, beliefs, and boundaries.
